Slicing the Garlic...

The movie isn't all about food... But you will find great snippets about how to make great gravy (sauce for you non-Italians out there). The garlic, spot-on. Watch it for the food reference, but more importantly for the entire movie is a modern classic.

I'm Amazed By Cheese

Have you ever seen cheese being made? If you did, you might question why you eat it. Nevertheless... Watch this video for a nice easy recipe on how to make farmer's cheese.

Lobster-sham-ockery

Don't get us wrong, we love animals, all living things for that matter. But wait. A 22 pound lobster??????? Come on. This is something that should reach the ole lobster pot and be served with warm butter. They gave it a name so that you'd feel bad about cooking it up, Dee Dee.

This gallery will not end up how you expect

Expired Foods has explored many different cultures around the world, many different foods. When a gallery comes along of an interesting culture and their practices, we often feel like we know what is coming... Not in this case. Check out this 8 picture slide show and see if you can guess where #5-#8 will take you.

A Wacky Collection of Weird Cakes

Think you've seen some strange cakes? Check out this site. PS That's a musical cake slicer up there in case you see anything you like to make and eat...

Gummy haggis

Wow. This is disgusting. I'm not a fan of haggis. I just can't get past the fact that I'm being asked to eat a meal baked in an animals stomach. Here's the candy version. I was disappointed to find that they were out of stock.

Gummy Haggis

Suck on Sigmund (SFW)

A picture is all you get on this one.

Bacon as a candy

This looks like a beautiful item... But wait. Strawberry flavored bacon gummy candy?

Grill from your desktop

Practical and convenient. Plug it in and grill away. USB paninis, USB grilled cheese, the list goes on... and on.

Prison Food That's the Best in Italy?

So let's say you go to Italy... You ask locals where the most exclusive restaurant for the best food is located... And they tell you it's on top of a prison and chef'ed and waiter'ed by murderers and other major criminals. Do you try to get a reservation and eat there?

I ordered immediately.

Imagine putting these in your office fridge. Scare the family around Thanksgiving by putting your leftovers in these containers. The possiblities are endless.

Need help flinging your food?

Never again lose a food fight. This modified utensil will give you the advantage the next time you look to fling food at a high rate of speed.

Learn about food safety from bad karaoke

I'm very rarely left speechless, but this is one of those times. Questions here is can you make it through the singing to learn about what the video is trying to teach you?

Fear of Pickles

Expired Foods will guarantee that if you watch this entire video you will laugh aloud. I feel bad for her fear of the pickles, but I find it impossible not to laugh.

Pickles that fight back.

A guy in Poland steals a bunch of pickles, but doesn't perfect his getaway. He's found 2 streets away choking on his treasure.

Sputtering Burglar's Gherkin Nightmare

What is it with all the food related violence?

What is going on, first the meat market (see last post), then the drive-thru. I'm afraid to go out and eat for fear that I too will lose a valued body part. Be careful out there folks.

Man's Nose Bitten Off In Brawl at Drive-Thru

Don't knock this until you try it first.

I had serious doubts about this working let alone tasting good. It does. Try it. Add in whatever you might normally to your omelet and go.

Meat Market Brawl?

Be careful if you're in a Tampa meat market and attempt to cut off this woman in line. She wanted pork chops and she didn't want to wait any longer than she thought she should have to.

Great food hacks

The folks at Slashfood are always putting up interesting stuff. This post gives you 25 great 'food hacks'. My favorite: making your own marshmallows. I have eaten the (too many) thousands of times and had never even given a thought to how they were made let alone making them myself. Here you go.

Bacon Floss? Beautiful.

If anyone tells you they enjoy flossing, I would call BS on them... Unless they have this beautiful product. Flossing would simply be something to look forward to with 'bacon floss'.

Coming soon to the area behind Expired Foods...?

If you've ever had wood fired bread or pizza, you know it's taste is one step from heaven. This website documents one man's quest to build his own wood fired oven in his backyard. A thing of beauty.

Wood Fired Brick Oven Tampa

So weird, it's cool.

This stop animation video really speaks for itself. Very creative.

Oh no, not the Trident gum!

I would have never though that any of these would be possible, let alone fear of chewing gum (!?!?!?!). But here it is a list of food related anxieties. Other unexplainable favorites: fear of green olives, fear of ketchup and my mostest favorite, fear of crumbs. That must make for a miserable time trying to consume food.

Treasure on the Beach?

So you're walking along the beach and you find a treasure chest that looks as if it washed up on the shore... You expect to open it to find untold riches and instead you get...

Man's Treasure Chest Find Disappoints

A suit for the ages (and frying pan)

This could be the most incredible suit ever created. Not only is it a bacon-print suit, but it is also bacon scented. I'm only able to give you a small snipit of the pic of this suit. You really need to see it in all of it's glory by clicking through below. This guy not only is sporting the suit he is the bacon suit.

I was so amazed by the suit, I almost ordered one to make sure it really existed.

Enjoy-

Cocoa Genome?

Deep. I had to look deeper into what a genome was. I wasn't exactly tearing it up in Bio, Chem, Physics and the like.

Anywho, imagine what would have been found in the Babe Ruth chocolate genome... Mars, here is looking to preserve their cacao crops through the use of better science. What could possibly go wrong?

Mars Candy Sequences Chocolate Genome for $10M

Shameless self-promotion.

You wear clothes, right?

If you're reading this, you like food (or are amused by weird stories about it), right?

Whoa. Break out some beer, the steam pot and go to town.

Monster crab with claws the size of a man's hand captured off the British coast

Wow. Weird beyond belief.

This is the weirdest McDonalds commercial, strike that, commercial period I think I've ever (!) seen. Enjoy (?).

Urban BBQ Camo?

I guess in Wisconsin folks are always looking for new ways to blend in. I just didn't see this one coming. BTW - How much would it take to cover?

Useful Baking Substitutions

I certainly haven't tested all of these, but they seem to be solid at first view. Good thing to have around with a big cooking weekend here in the US coming up.

Great kitchen gear advice

Great advice here on tools to have in your kitchen. It is teared into cooking levels of expertise. Great read.

I've got to be honest though, I was very surprised not to see a meat slicer on the list. A must for anyone who enjoys meat.

Great fish taco recipe, not fried.

Had this twice. The second time I added some fresh cilantro to the sour cream sauce and used orange roughy instead of snapper. A great, light fish taco recipe that you will enjoy.

A River of Dressing In Your Home?

So you live by a salad dressing manufacturer... Next thing you know, the area floods and you have creamy white gook flowing through your basement.

I think this one resident's quote says it all, "It's creamy-ranch- dressing-looking crap," said resident Steven Maiken. "It's not toxic waste, but we did have to throw away a lot of stuff. We tried to wash it off over and over again."
