Food Failure - Crystal Pepsi

As a new part of Expired Foods, I thought I would go back to certain occasions where food/drink marketers thought they had a brilliant idea - and it just plain sucked. For the first one, I looked to find info on Crystal Pepsi. First reading on Wikipedia, then looking in Google. One of the funnier marketing gaffes listed in the Wikipedia story is the contest they held that would give you free Pepsi if you found a special picture under the cap. Crystal Pepsi, being clear and all, allowed the buyer to simply turn over the bottle and buy a winner without even opening it.
I was surpised to find that there is even a petition online to bring it back. Now I thought this was merely a joke until I clicked through and found it to have over 7000 signatures. Check it out here.
